These forlorn firs in the parking lot at Franklin Miles Park in Santa Fe serve as a reminder that the holiday is long past. Christmas is past — long live Valentine’s Day!

By the way, folks, the Christmas tree collections for city recycling ended with the month of January. You can always take them to the landfill yourself, or find a wood chopper, feed that tree through and sprinkle the remains on your yard as compost.

Speaking of Valentine’s Day… maybe we should come up with a program to recycle unwanted chocolates.
