WASHINGTON (AP/WJLA) – The lottery for tickets for the 92nd annual National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony opens on Friday.
Free tickets for the lighting ceremony will be given out through an online lottery. The lottery opens Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. and will close on Oct. 20. Ticket requests can be made through the website.
The tree will be lit this year on Dec. 4, according to the National Park Service and National Park Foundation. The annual lighting ceremony draws thousands of visitors each year to the White House Ellipse in President’s Park.
Those without computer access can call 1-877-444-6777 to request tickets.
